To explain how SM series optical fingerprint module be connected to Adruino UNO R3, we here made the connection guidance as below.

3.   Arduino IDE Description:

1、Click on the icon  to run “verify” and complete and the code compilation.

2、Click on the icon  to run “upload” and complete the code loading.

3、By using a serial port tool, input 1、2、3、4、5 and 6 individually to display the excution status of six instance program like shown in the following figure:
   

 

4.      Notice:

1、Open two serial ports: one is the communication serial port between the Arduino

IDE running on a computer and the R3 board, the baudrate is 115200. The other is the

communication serial port between the R3 board and the SM25 optical fingerprint module, the baudrate is 115200.

2、Arduino R3 is with 5V-TLL serial port electricity level, sm25 is with 3.3V-TTL uart

electricity level, the two can be connected directly.
